Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.

Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a message.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific Television Career

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.

"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.

Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
