Former BBC Consultants Undergo MPs' Grilling Following Assertions of Prejudice in Disclosed Memo

Previous British Broadcasting Corporation advisers appearing in front of MPs

We start with inquiries from Conservative lawmaker Caroline Dinenage, who leads the committee.

She initiates by giving background to the disclosed document prepared by Michael Prescott and released in a national newspaper.

"I don't want the BBC tilting this way or that way, I simply desire it straight, unbiased and equitable," he says.

When asked if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, Prescott answers: "No, I do not. To be clear, a great deal the BBC creates is top-tier - including informative and fictional content."

However, he continues: "There exists significant effort that needs to be done at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

A further ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation adviser questioned by the panel, Caroline Daniel, states she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation with great importance and that it operates a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" on fluid and multifaceted subjects.

"Did the BBC ready to engage in a genuine discussion and exchange and implement changes?" she reflects. "In my view, yes they were."
