Iran Claims Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
