Your Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Zodiac Sign

The comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread enthusiasm within the community. From the gradual unveiling of newcomers before the title's launch, to trainers developing strong opinions on the full lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.

Given numerous of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique appearances that emphasize their personalities, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? This list is inspired by a blend of intuition, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.

The Ram – Mega Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was almost chosen for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as always angry, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. This makes Aries much more similar to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Remain on the good side of either and benefit from a powerful ally; if you cross them, prepare to face the consequences.

The Bull – Super Heracross

Much like a devoted Taurus, the steadfast Heracross, both in its standard and Mega form, has assisted many players in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the creature and a Taurus are also battle-oriented, and – whether it's their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side to the end. The thing about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unashamed love of snacks. Several past Pokédex entries mention their craving for sweet sap and how it employs its horn to hoard it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.

The Twins – Super Medicham

Look at this total royalty. You cannot convince me this Pokémon is not the life of every party, providing an endless stream of gossip to anyone who wish to listen. Just like an enrapturing, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly easy to imagine Super Medicham captivating an entire open area with their stories. This Pokémon's official description also states its capacity to foresee an enemy’s future actions, which seems very similar to a people-smart Twins.

The Crab – Mega Manectric

Cancer is commonly regarded as the most sensitive member of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign known for often becoming absorbed in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “tremendous amount of electricity, but it's excessive for Manectric to fully control,” which sounds a lot like a typical Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also known for its ability to make a storm cloud over its very head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is likely to do, it’s spoil their own parade.

The Lion – Super Starmie

Well, did you think I was going to select Pyroar for the lion of the stars? Aside from the fact that it would be far too obvious, The Lion is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Players were captivated from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Lion offers to the scene. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting radio waves from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be putting on a performance, albeit for extraterrestrials.

Virgo – Super Victreebel

The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The sign known for being endearingly critical is strongly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a always surprised face like a Virgo when you inform them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down face that’s just like the symbol a Virgo posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a strategy.

The Scales – Super Audino

Look at this gentle, empathetic being, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how people are emotionally by their heartbeat. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a fault – and striving to keep the harmony, there are many Libras who would probably appreciate Super Audino's abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just cause them to stress even more about others.

The Scorpion – Super Banette

This Ghost-type is a creature with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a doll, it became sentient through sheer resentment and vowed retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha

Both Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a show. Being a Sagittarius myself, the amount of occasions I’ve called myself some variation of a “silly small entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its description even notes how it “flexes to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.

Capricorn – Mega Absol

Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to predict disasters in advance? That gives the identical vibe as a Goat, who tends to consistently think they’re correct. The thing is, much like a visionary Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute first Mega Evolution that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to join the ground floor of the Super Form craze.

The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure

Detached element Aquarius is arguably the non-flame placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is Leo, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s dual Spirit/Flame category fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s general intimidating aura is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already convinced, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into strength.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
